Cummins Onan generator powers Sports Radio 810 at Talladega Superspeedway
One of the newest vehicles at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama didn’t set any speed records; in fact it was standing still. But the new trailerized generator from Cummins Onan wasn’t idle. It powered Sports Radio 810 WHB, which did live remote broadcasts from the speedway from Thursday, April 22, through Sunday, April 25, from 11:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. The Cummins Onan generator was notably quiet, so as not to compete with the announcers (or the roar of the race cars).
The station provided live coverage of the ARCA 250, won by rookie Dakoda Armstrong in a Dodge; the Aaron’s 312, won by Brad Keselowski in a Dodge; and the Aaron’s 499, won by Kevin Harvick in a Chevrolet.
Cummins Onan, the leading manufacturer of RV generators, supported the live remotes in several other ways, too. First, we ran radio spots on Sports 810. We also had the local Cummins Onan distributor and factory experts on hand to talk about Cummins Onan generators for RVs and the newest model for homes, the RS20. There were live demonstrations, a drawing to win a free generator, free trips given away by the radio station, free food and door prizes. All in all, if you like NASCAR and you have an interest in generators, it was a good place to be.
