News from Australia: portable generator donation assists Royal Flying Doctor Service

The Australian Winnebago RV Club (WRVC) has donated AU$20,838 to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) to assist in one of its important functions. A check was handed to the RV club’s adopted charity at a recent Annual General Meeting of the service held in Sydney.

Throughout the year, club members raise money for the RFDS mainly by selling raffle tickets at major caravan and camping shows around Australia. Cummins Onan, a long-term business partner of Winnebago Industries in Australia, donated a P1700i portable generator as the major prize to be raffled off. The generator alone raised AU$10,838.

RFDS South Eastern Section President Joan Treweeke was appreciative of the donation from the club and commented that it is the generosity of organizations such as Cummins Onan that enables the service to continue its valuable work.

The RFDS uses the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology to deliver extensive primary health care and 24-hour emergency medical services to those who live, work and travel throughout Australia, especially in the vast Outback.
