The entry latches to the service and non-service doors on the Cummins Onan marine generators have been changed in accordance with sections 1.3.7, 1.3.8 and 18.104.22.168 of the 2006/42/EC Machinery Directive Declaration of Conformity for Machinery as it relates to fixed guards.
All current Cummins Onan marine diesel generators sold around the world carry the CE marking; that means they comply with the recent changes made to the Machinery Directive Declaration of Conformity.
The new latches are slotted, so they can be easily opened with a twisting action. Simply insert a flat-bladed screwdriver or a coin into the slotted groove and rotate to open or close the door latches.
This recent change does not apply to obsolete models or non-current model specifications that still accurately bear the CE marking
