Five-star hotel in Kosovo self generates power thanks to Cummins Power Generation

Diamond HotelCummins Power Generation distributor Amadeus Group has installed and commissioned a self-generation power solution for a new five-star hotel in Pristina, Kosovo. Amadeus Group has supplied a Cummins Power Generation C1100 D5 generator set with a Cummins QST30-G4 engine. The 1100 kVA generator set serves a total power requirement at the site of 1000 kVA. The system is expected to operate 300 hours/year.

The Diamond Hotel is the first five-star international class hotel in Kosovo. It stands in a prominent location in the centre of Pristina, opposite the Parliament and the building that houses the Kosovo government. Only a short walk away is a key cultural landmark of the city, the National Theatre, and also the main offices of one of Kosovo’s key institutions, the European Union Commission.

The 140 room hotel is equipped with business meeting facilities, a Deluxe room, and a special suite designated as Royal or Presidential. Construction was undertaken by Mabatex Project Engineering, which has built its reputation through the construction of a number of prominent and architecturally distinctive buildings across east-central Europe. Pristina’s Diamond Hotel is not only the latest in a chain of Swiss Diamond Hotels in the region, it also brings the chain to completion.
