Cummins’ PD&I (Projects, Design and Implementation) successfully won and is currently executing its 200th project, a major production facility at Sabriya in Kuwait. This milestone achievement highlights PD&I Africa and Middle East group’s decade-long industry experience and expertise. From project inception and system design, to installation and aftersales support, the highly specialized application, engineering and project execution teams offer a range of innovative solutions to ensure the success of its customers. It is also the first QSK95 engine sold into Kuwait.
The scope of the 200th project involves engineering, supply, testing and commissioning of the diesel power generation set. The one unit of 2400 kW/3000 kVA, 3.3 kV, 50 Hz prime-rated diesel generator set with Cummins engine model QSK95-G4 coupled to IP55 Cummins Generator Technologies’ AvK alternator will provide emergency power to the production facility.
The customized generator set has been equipped with IP55 rated sound- and weather-proof enclosure with a fire detection and fighting (CO2) system, dual electric starting with automatic changeover system, dual NiCad battery and charger, hot-standby AVR (Basler DECS-200 model), remote mounted generator control panel, 3.3 kV switchgear and a resistive load bank of 950 kW/3.3 kV.
